* These numbers are examples not a direct source for your marketing campaign. This is based on a customer acquisition cost of 60 dollars per acquisition.
Goals:
Once you know your target spend and your estimated growth goal, you can move forward. Please remember the figures above are based on a $60,00 customer acquisition cost. If you have a good marketing guy or team that cost can be essentially 20 - 30% less than the above scale. But once you have these set numbers, set your goals. If you currently have 400 customers that do fertilizer and weed control but you want 500, make this the focus. Plan your goals out in a word file or a notebook and be sure to keep them on hand at all times during the year!
Content:
In lawn care marketing quality content is essential. No matter if your writing a blog, or creating a slide it must be done well and informative. In the last 10 years, our market has completely shifted. We now live in a day and age where the buyers have more information, and knowledge than ever. To keep up in this modern market we must find our niche and stand out. If we do not we will surely fail. To find your sweet spot run reports on how many customers have each service. If you have 150 customers that do tree and shrub and 400 that have pest programs you may want to focus content around those services. Work to answer your customer's questions, this will help lead in conversions.
Relevance:
Your content must be relevant to do you and your company any justice. If your lawn care marketing efforts are wasted on old information or out of place information you can fail quickly. Be sure that you keep your information relevant and that it also fits seasonally as well. If it is the middle of spring don't put content out about a fall aeration and seeding, instead put something up about pre-emergents. Being well planned and organized will help you succeed with your goals!
